Admissions Officer - Veterans Elderly Care Home - £29.5k to £30.5k + excellent benefits - Central London

This charitable organisation is looking for an Admissions Officer to join the team. This beautiful private care home extends its support to retired veterans, who are looking for supported accommodation, and provides a wide variety of support and services in addition to the accommodation provided.

The Admissions Officer will coordinate the application process for all veterans who apply. They will process every application received, ensuring that each applicant is appropriately assessed and considered. They will also continue to maintain and develop the admissions process to ensure that it delivers a high-quality experience for each applicant.

SALARY ETC:

* £29.5k to £30.5k + excellent benefits

* Central SW London

* Permanent, full-time

* This opportunity will be an on-site job.

REQUIREMENTS:

* Must have the right to work in the UK

* Relevant qualification in health and social care is desirable

* An awareness of the issues facing older people today, specifically older veterans.

* An understanding of safeguarding and what to do in the event of a concern.

* Previous customer service experience

* An understanding of Adult Social Care and the legal framework that underpins this

* An understanding of the military and its ethos would be beneficial

* Ability to negotiate and influence, including having difficult conversations

* Project management skills including ability to prioritise workload with minimal direction, analyze information, make decisions and multi-task.

* Ability to develop, inform and sustain professional relationships, partnerships and networks.

* Organised, efficient and have a confident and professional manner.

* Demonstrable effective customer service skills, including positive non-verbal communication.

* Good written and IT skills, with a good knowledge and accuracy in English Grammar and Maths.

JOB DETAILS:

* Being the initial point of contact at, and the face of, the charity for all potential applicants. First contact; dispatch and processing of all applications forms; including contact with their friends and families.

* Working effectively and efficiently to manage all aspects of the application and admissions process

* Effectively and accurately managing the data sets required to track different aspects of applications and admissions

* On behalf of the chair, coordinate the multi-disciplinary Admissions Panel

* Coordinate a personalised plan in preparation for an intake’s arrival day

* Monthly and quarterly KPI reporting for the Executive Board, Health & Wellbeing Oversight Committee and Board of Commissioners

* Continuous involvement in the development and implementation of the Pensioner Recruitment Strategy,.

* Coordinating and managing the workload of colleagues tasked with assisting with admissions administration

* Oversight of the accommodation with colleagues to ensure it is ready for occupation by new intakes

* The Line Management of a group of Residents who act as Mentors for applicants on their tester temporary stay and new intakes in their first week.

* Within capacity, attending events as a networking opportunity and to promote the retirment home
