The AICS Group specialises in providing community-based rehabilitation and support to our clients who have a brain injury, cerebral palsy, spinal injuries, learning disabilities, complex behaviour, live in support and social and personal needs.
The AICS Group is looking for a Male/Female Rehabilitation Support Worker to work with our 18-year-old male client who lives in CR3 postcode. This role provides immense job satisfaction in a busy and varied environment, working with a range of health and social care professionals.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client was born prematurely, in hospital, at 32 weeks. There were associated complications at delivery and a subsequent lack of oxygen to the brain resulting in Cerebral Palsy. Due to the brain injury from birth, all aspects of daily living tasks have been affected and the client is fully dependent on his parents and support workers for meeting his daily needs.
We are looking for a Support Worker who can work the hours below at least twice a week:
School Days -
Monday to Friday 06:00 am to 10:00 am
02:00pm / 04:00 pm to 08:00 pm
Schoold holiday /Weekends - 08:00 am to 08:00 pm
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Skills:
* Support Worker should have a Current and clean driving licence
* Support worker should have a minimum of 1 year’s experience in health and social care
* Support Worker should have a basic understanding of developmental delay and cognitive impairment
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Good IT skills
* Ability to work in the client’s home
* Ability to liaise with healthcare professionals
* Willingness to learn and ability to take on feedback
Desirable Skills:
* Experience of providing care to people living in the community
