Business Development Manager

Lemon Drizzle Recruitment has been appointed to recruit a Business Development Manager for a Contract Furniture Dealer based in the North East of England who operate in the North East, Yorkshire and Humberside.
An introduction to the Company and what it’s like to work for them
This is a modern contract furniture dealer who specialise in furniture specified and sold for commercial use, typically as part of a design or construction project. They sell contract furniture which includes loose, fixed, and bespoke furniture packages within the workplace, education health and leisure sectors. They have a solid client portfolio across the North East and Yorkshire and want to grow the business by acquiring new clients. They have a fantastic reputation and great staff retention which has been gained from the high amount of trust placed in employees. Trust and autonomy are the key values of this organisation. What you’ll be doing and be responsible for
The main purpose of the role is to develop and maintain client relationships across the North East, Yorkshire and Humberside. You will be targeting and building relationships independently with main contractors, D&B firms, A&D practices, cost consultants, local authorities, and end users.
You will promote the business and open doors, creating opportunities to showcase how this Furniture Dealer operates.
* Work with the wider commercial team to identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets
* Seek out the appropriate contact in an organisation
* Generate leads and opportunities
* Meet with customers/clients face to face, VC or over the phone
* Foster and develop relationships with customers/clients
* Understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these.
* Work strategically - carrying out necessary planning in order to implement operational changes
* Have a good understanding of the businesses' products and services and be able to advise others about them
* Discuss promotional strategy and activities with the marketing department
* Attend seminars, conferences and events where appropriate
* Keep abreast of trends and changes in the contract furniture world.
* Help to plan sales campaigns
* Create a sales pipeline
* Increase sales of the business
* Develop the business sales and marketing strategy
What we’re looking for?
The ideal candidate for this role will be based in the North East or Yorkshire and be a results driven professional. You will enjoy business development activity, be resilient and motivated, a natural people person with a desire to achieve both personally and professionally enjoying the rewards of doing so. You might currently work for a furniture dealer, furniture manufacturer, a supplier of another product used in a commercial fit out projects or even work as a Designer or Architect, looking to move into the exciting world of Business Development.

* Excellent communicator
* Strong I.T skills
* Experienced in working with a sales CRM.
* Understanding of the contract furniture market would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided.
* Full UK driving license as the role requires travel.
* Ambitions and a strong desire to simply succeed in a rewarding team and company
