Job | Lead Control System Engineer
Company | Control System Integrator
Areas | Large Moving Structures / Manufacturing
Tech | Siemens / Rockwell PLC and Panel Design (autoCAD Electrical/ EPLAN), Project Management
Development | Chartership, FSEng, progression
Based | South Yorkshire
Working pattern | Hybrid – UK projects
Offer | Up to £65k + bonus + over time
We are working with an established control system integrator to recruit a Lead Control System Engineer.
This is a hybrid role (3 days in the office, 2 days at home) with some travel for commissioning (less than 20% of the year). You will be leading a team to deliver Turnkey Control & Automation Projects within diverse environments.
There is a real sense that developing people goes beyond the usual lip service. Beyond being an IET enterprise partner a whopping 15% of engineers are on long term training – this is proper structured training that goes beyond the 3 day Siemens or EPLAN course you might be sent on.
Further expansion plans mean it is likely that the business will be creating Principal Engineer roles in the future to add to the current complement of Principal Engineers who each lead their own team of 3 Lead Engineers.
The company also has an internal academy to support your development so you can progress – there are several defined paths to move forward – within engineering or applications or service. In fact the vast majority of these roles have come about through mobility – people getting promoted or moving into new areas.
Experience we are looking for:
- Siemens / Rockwell PLC software design capability without the use of a library or set design standards.
- Electric Design
- Project management (Quality, Delivery and Cost).
- Project and site health and safety.
- Supervision/management of sub-contractors
- Control System software design specification.
- Factory and Site Acceptance Testing
- Production and review of technical documentation
- System commissioning
- Supervision and coaching of junior staff, including technicians, graduates and apprentices
Package:
Earn up to £65k a year as a basic salary (depending on your experience).
Additional company benefits:
- EV Salary Sacrifice scheme to take advantage of a unique tax break for employees that take out an EV company car
- Annual Bonus
- Professional registration with the IET & ongoing training and development
- Private Medical (AXA)
- Life Insurance (Death in Service with Canada Life)
- Royal London Pension
We are only able to consider applications from individuals who are already eligible to work in the UK.
