As a Night Porter at Longhurst Group, you will be responsible for listening, motivating, guiding and advocating for our customers – you’ll be helping to provide opportunities for a more independent and better life. With each individual you will help them to make the link between housing, training, and employment, thus providing a steppingstone to independence. Our Night Porter role will enable you to support adults through helping them to gain a sense of identity & confidence.

Build and maintain relationships with individuals and external agencies to encourage general wellbeing and social interaction.

Offer assistance to our customers and other colleagues, including telephone support, monitoring of CCTV via remote view and / or occasionally attendance at other services when needed.

Ensure that individuals are supported in understanding and managing their tenancy, maximising their income, paying their rent and utilities, reporting repairs, and using available facilities.

Carry out and record hourly security checks of the building.
*
Ensure the security surveillance equipment is working efficiently and report any faults.
*
Help customers understand the responsibilities of holding their licence agreement – particularly with respect to keeping the property in a clean and tidy state, not causing a nuisance to neighbours and paying rent.
In order to be successful in application for our Night Porter role, you will have experience and understanding of professional boundaries when working with a vulnerable customer group, and ideally experience managing anti-social and challenging behaviours. Good administration skills with an eye for detail and ability to write clear and concise diary logs/incident reports is a must.
Our Night Porter role is based at Paines Mill HRS, St Neots and contracted to 35 hours per week, Monday – Sunday (9.45pm – 8.15am and until 8.45pm - 10am on weekends) and split across 4 nights on, 4 nights off rolling rota.
