Job Purpose

To support the Plant Manager with the running of a busy Asphalt plant and Depot. Ensuring H&S is prioritized whilst ensuring the production needs of our customers are met.

Main Duties

Reporting to the Plant Manager, key tasks will include:

* Weighbridge - Day to Day Operations

* Operation of Coating Plant – producing asphalt in accordance with technical quality standards

* Operation of the loading shovel

* General maintenance and housekeeping tasks around the site

* Complying with all Company Health, Safety & Environmental systems, and reporting procedures

Experience and Qualifications

* Experience working in a coating or similar production environment preferred

* A good understanding of industry Health, Safety and Environmental standards

* Good communication skills and teamwork are required

* NVQ Wheeled Loader licence an advantage – though full training package would be given to the successful applicant

* Flexible, reliable, and enthusiastic

* Ability to work within an extremely busy team environment

* Fitting skills / Mechanical experience would be an advantage

Additonal Information

* We are looking for someone to be a multi skilled operative – Loading Shovel / Mixerman / Shovel Driver / Train discharge.

* 48 hours per week, 2200 annualised hours

* The operation runs 7 days a week, Mon-Fri typically 5.30-4.30 (shifts) and Sat-Sun (phone number removed) – usually 1 in 4 weekends are worked

* Sunday shift allowance is paid, £1200 per annum to be available to work up to 16 Sundays

* Ideally id like someone within the industry is possible, having the above named skills would be a real advantage.
