Position: Section Engineer
Reporting To: Project Manager
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Section Engineer to join our team in Birmingham. The successful candidate will oversee engineering activities on-site, ensuring all work meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with project specifications and regulations. This role requires a collaborative professional with the ability to work closely with site personnel to deliver the project to the highest possible standards.
Key Responsibilities
Setting-Out and Surveys:

Perform setting-out duties from engineers' drawings, site surveys, and as-built drawings.
Ensure accurate interpretation and implementation of technical designs and specifications.
Drawing Interpretation:

Read and interpret technical drawings for layouts, materials measurement, and site execution.
Subcontractor and Workforce Collaboration:

Coordinate with subcontractors and the general workforce to ensure seamless execution of works.
Project Planning:

Plan and sequence works efficiently to achieve programme targets.
Stakeholder Liaison:

Engage with clients’ representatives and design team members to ensure alignment on project goals and specifications.
Health & Safety Compliance:

Ensure all works adhere to the highest health and safety standards.
Quality Control:

Monitor and ensure that all work meets quality benchmarks and project requirements.
Material Management:

Manage the ordering, storage, and distribution of materials on site.
Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate site records, including reports, inspections, and progress updates.Qualifications and Experience
Education:

A third-level qualification in Engineering or a related discipline is essential.
Skills and Attributes:

Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral communication abilities.
Highly motivated with a focus on delivering safety, quality, and programme objectives.
Proficient in IT systems relevant to engineering tasks.
A collaborative team player with problem-solving skills.
Other Requirements:

Full, clean driving license.
