The Role
The Senior Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of the company’s production equipment. Working alongside a team of maintenance technicians and external contractors, the engineer will focus on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting machinery, managing reactive repairs, and overseeing the installation of new equipment. In addition, they will play a key role in maintaining the company’s facilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Continuously work within the preventative maintenance schedule, addressing machinery breakdowns as they occur
* Develop and implement maintenance and servicing schedules
* Lead engineering problem-solving initiatives to minimize downtime
* Oversee the installation of new equipment and machinery
* Manage necessary maintenance of buildings and facilities
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
* A degree, diploma, or equivalent in an engineering discipline, ideally mechanical or electrical
* Extensive experience in a similar role within a food manufacturing or comparable industry
* A diverse skillset to handle a wide range of machinery maintenance
* Up-to-date technical knowledge and exceptional problem-solving abilities
* Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team
* A proactive, hands-on approach and a drive to succeed
