Job Title: Shift Engineer
Location: Near Liverpool Street Tube Station, London
Salary: £54,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-Time, Continental Shift Pattern (Days and Nights)

About the Role:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Shift Engineer to join their team, based near Liverpool Street, working for a prestigious multinational facilities management company. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and managing the building’s mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring smooth and efficient operation at all times. Key Responsibilities:

* Perform planned and reactive maintenance on M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) systems across the building.

* Ensure the efficient operation of all critical systems, including Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Coil Units (FCUs), BMS (Building Management Systems), and Cooling Towers.

* Respond to emergency breakdowns and resolve issues promptly to avoid disruption to building operations.

* Conduct regular inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of systems.

* Maintain accurate records of all work carried out, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

* Work closely with other engineers and building management to ensure efficient service delivery.

* Participate in a continental shift pattern (days and nights) to ensure 24/7 coverage of the building.

Requirements:

* Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).

* Experience in commercial building maintenance (preferably within a high-rise or corporate environment).

* Hands-on experience with Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Coil Units (FCUs), BMS, and Cooling Towers.

* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet.

* Knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, lighting, fire alarms, and power distribution.

* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

* Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.

* Flexible, reliable, and proactive in approach to shift work and maintenance schedules.
