The Company:

A market leading national Construction Group whose NW Regional Construction team would deliver projects for clients around Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside and Lancashire. Current projects are valued from £5 Million to over £100 Million and successfully completed schemes have been in the commercial, industrial, multi storey residential, higher education, education, health, blue light and leisure sectors.

They are members of all of the key procurement Frameworks from which they secure a significant proportion of their turnover and also have good historical relationships with private sector clients meaning they are able to negotiate rather than use single stage tendering to secure work.

They have been responsible for constructing a number of high profile, iconic buildings in the North West and are in a great position to continue their growth as they’re already ahead of their 2024-5 turnover target and have a significant proportion of 2025-6 secured.

The Position:

This is a great opportunity to join one of the best regarded contractors in the North West as they are now in a position to recruit an experienced Senior Estimator to bolster their current team.

You will be tasked with providing early stage cost advice to your clients through Cost Planning and will be focussed on derisking complex and technically challenging scheme, you’ll receive tender enquiries and present the details to the Directors agreeing to bid or not, complete the risk register, work with the rest of the pre con team to meet deadlines, send out and vet subcontract enquiries, conduct site visits, attend tender review meetings, building up the tender through to tender adjudication and settlement whilst looking for value engineering opportunities, present the financial elements of the tender in line with the clients' specification and help with post tender negotiations.

You:

To be successful in this role you will need to have worked for a similar Tier 1 or 2 building contractor, you’ll need to be able to carry out Cost Planning and have worked on medium to large value building projects (£15-20 Million+) who has a really good knowledge of the market and supply chain in the North West of England.

You will be based in or be able to commute to Manchester daily.

Commercially aware with an understanding of value engineering.

Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office Packages and ideally knowledge of Conquest.

Good verbal and written communication skills.
