SEND Teaching Assistant – Outdoor & Therapeutic Education Setting

Location: Bingham | Full-Time | Term-Time Only

Short-Term Contract with Potential for Long-Term Placement

Salary: £90 - £120 per day

Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with additional needs? We’re proud to be working with a specialist SEND school in Bingham, supporting their search for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team.

This unique provision, set in woodland and farm-based environments, provides bespoke education to children with complex trauma, mental health, behavioural and attachment needs. Guided by a progressive model (Playfulness, Love, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy), the school fosters a nurturing, therapeutic space where children can feel safe, grow emotionally, and progress academically.

The School boasts a commendable mission of promoting respect for authority figures and developing emotional insight and self-management within a learning setting. Utilising the schools location for outdoor learning has been a main priority for the setting and they will continue to bolster the personal development of their students with this. 

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Support pupils across all Key Stages, including those with Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs
• Work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored interventions
• Use the natural environment to engage and inspire pupils in their learning
• Bring patience, empathy, and resilience to help young learners thrive
• Be proactive and confident in managing challenging behaviours

You’ll need:
• Experience working with children or young people with additional needs
• Confidence in supporting students with SEMH and behavioural challenges
• A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification (CACHE or equivalent)
• Team-Teach or MAPA training (desirable but not essential)
