Job Title: Customs Clerk
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:30
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

We are assisting our Dover based client in their search for a Customs Clerk. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with customs regulations and facilitating the smooth movement of goods through customs checkpoints.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and submit customs documentation in compliance with regulations.
Coordinate with customs officials to ensure timely clearance of shipments.
Verify accuracy of import and export documentation.
Classify goods according to tariff coding system.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations and procedures.
Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to customs clearance.
Communicate with internal teams and external stakeholders to provide updates on shipment status.

Qualifications:

Proven experience working in customs clearance or freight forwarding is essential (minimum of 2 years experience is required)
Strong knowledge of customs regulations and procedures.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
