An unusual Authorising Engineer post here; it's with an Architects practice and you'll be joining a team that audits safe systems to work in hospitals across the UK from their Sheffield base.
On offer is a company car, 4% matched pension contribution, support for professional development and being part of a less constrained environment than the more traditional FM organisation. What's more, there is no overtime or weekend working making it more socialable than the traditional AP post.
As an employer, they are also much smaller than the traditional FM or H&S Consultancy carrying out this type of work. Being an Architect means they will have a completely different culture and a more creative nature too; it could be just the change you are looking for.
You'll still need to be Incorporated or Chartered and possess your High and Low Voltage Authorising Engineering certificates, ideally to HTM 06-02 and 06-03.
In the main you'll be working from home or site, so you don't necessarily need to be based near Sheffield. The other members of the team are in Yorkshire and the West Midlands, so being located in the south of the country or possibly the Newcastle area would be ideal.
Due to the nature of the work it is essential that you have your own driving licence, are comfortable with having the odd night or two away from home and enjoy the audit and review side of being an Authorised Person.
If this sounds like you, please get in touch so we can discuss how you can do a serious job in a more relaxed environment.
