Research Director/Associate – Impact and economic evaluation specialist
Location: Fully Remote (London)
About You
We’re looking for an ambitious, commercially minded impact and economic evaluation specialist to join a business where they can really contribute to its success and growth. You must have a passion for policy themes such as employment support, welfare, health, justice, and young people.
The ideal candidate will have:
* A strong background in econometrics, UK-based social market research, and policy evaluation.
* A degree in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, or a related field.
* Extensive experience in econometric modelling, policy evaluation, and social market research.
* A proven track record of leading and managing research teams.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Additionally, you should possess Excellent communication and presentation skills along with the following:
* The ability to work collaboratively with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our leadership team as a Director or Associate Director and build impact and economic evaluation capability across our Community team, applying econometric methods in evaluating policies and interventions.
Key Highlights:
* Influence business direction and build a team over time to maintain expertise in a developing research market.
* Collaborate with a growing evaluation business using a range of methodologies for various public sector clients.
* Deliver statistical impact analysis, theory-based impact analysis, and economic/value-for-money evaluation.
* Work with survey data and a range of secondary datasets.
* Engage with a variety of people, projects, and clients to lead the delivery and leadership of key evaluation projects.
* Support team heads across sectors such as net zero, environment, business, industrial, and infrastructure policy.
* Play a leadership role in winning new business and supporting research team development.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluation Leadership:
* Manage and direct the evaluation process across projects throughout the full project cycle.
* Act as a company expert in impact and economic evaluation research.
* Lead and develop internal evaluation expertise.
Technical Expertise:
* Design and implement robust econometric models to assess the impact of social programmes and policies.
* Oversee the development and execution of research methodologies, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
Strategic Insight:
* Provide strategic recommendations to clients based on research findings.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment of research projects with their goals.
Leadership and Development:
* Attend and participate in weekly Director meetings and regular board meetings.
* Coach, mentor, and line-manage junior members of project teams and the wider research team.
