Salary: Circa £33,000
Contract: Fixed term contract, until October 2026
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
The Grahame Park Loop is a community re-use hub in Barnet, London. It collects, repairs, and sells unique, restored furniture at affordable prices. Residents donate unwanted items, which are then upcycled and sold in the shop and online. The proceeds support training and employment opportunities for local people. The Loop also offers courses in upholstery, home improvement, and more, and coordinated workshops and volunteering events.
The Role
The organisation’s furniture reuse hub, The Loop @ Grahame Park is looking for an experienced and creative manager to lead the future development of this unique retail, workshop and training space.
With funding established for three years, they are seeking a Manager to take this unique community asset into its next phase. The manager will focus on building retail, events, workshop and volunteering offer, to meet community need, reduce landfill and increase knowledge and skills in upcycling and reuse.
The Manager will work with an established staff and volunteer team, skilled in carpentry, upcycling and upholstery. The postholder will manage day-to-day retail and workshop operations, staff and volunteer teams and ensure funded service outputs are met, whilst developing and implementing new and innovative services and income streams.
Skills and Qualifications
* Experience in managing and delivering projects within the environmental, reuse / upcycling or creative industries
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to lead, motivate and inspire diverse teams of staff, volunteers and customers
* Knowledge and experience in retail, enterprise or business start-up settings
* Strong team leadership qualities, with ability to work under own initiative, propose creative and innovate solutions to challenges and respond flexibly to changing priorities
* Strong knowledge and understanding of H&S Regulations within retailing and warehousing and/or workshop environments
