Pay Rate: £25 - £30 Per Hour

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children? GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 LAC (Looked After Child) Tutor to join our team in Sheffield. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with a young learner in care, providing the personalized support they need to thrive academically and personally.

Job Summary:

As a 1:1 LAC (Looked After Child) Tutor, you will play a crucial role in supporting a child who has faced significant challenges. You will work in a one-to-one setting, tailoring your teaching methods to meet the unique needs of looked after children, helping them build confidence and achieve their educational goals.

As a 1:1 LAC (Looked After Child) Tutor, Your Responsibilities:

Provide tailored 1:1 tutoring lessons in various subjects for Looked After Children, ensuring their unique educational needs are met.
Create and deliver engaging, personalized lesson plans that align with each child’s individual education plan.
Monitor and report the child’s progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary.
Maintain accurate records of the child's progress and any concerns.
Communicate regularly with the child's carers, social workers, and school staff to ensure consistent support.
Foster a supportive and nurturing learning environment to encourage the child's academic and personal growth.
As a 1:1 LAC (Looked After Child) Tutor, Your Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant tutoring/teaching experience.
Proven experience working with Looked After Children or vulnerable young people.
Strong understanding of the challenges faced by Looked After Children and the ability to address these effectively.
Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and effective tutoring strategies.
A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to support and inspire children in care.
