About the Role:
 
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Archaeology Assistant to join our dynamic team in Southampton. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a team that excavates and records archaeological material, contributing to significant projects and helping to uncover our past.
 
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the excavation and recording of archaeological materials, following guidance from senior team members.
Accurately identify, excavate, and document archaeological contexts, including preparing context sheets, scale drawings, and photographic records.
Perform calculations for measured drawings and field surveys, maintaining high levels of concentration during repetitive tasks.
Support post-excavation activities, such as processing finds and samples, and assisting in report preparation. Essential Qualifications:
 
A minimum of 12 weeks of experience working on archaeological sites experience.
 
Desirable Qualifications:
 
Degree in Archaeology or equivalent practical experience.
CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) Card (or willingness to obtain upon appointment).
