Engineering Stores Person
Overall Objective of the Role
Work as part of an engineering team and support/assist Engineering to achieve their KPI’s. Monitor & control of critical stock levels. Filing and archiving of all Engineering related documentation.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Keeping track of what is available in inventory, constantly adjusting min/max levels as required.
- Monitor current stock levels to decide if more should be ordered with guidance from the computerized stock system.
- Organizing existing inventory, so it is easily and safely accessible, into a racking system and into Piranha.
- Responsible for monitoring where the inventory is being used on assets, along with how much each member of team is spending.
- Keep accurate records upon delivery of the stock, follow process of stock flow.
- Responsible for helping to develop efficient systems and processes for control of stock and implementation into piranha.
- Responsible for accepting all deliveries of stock. This includes ensuring that they are not damaged and that everything ordered is present and accounted for. They are also responsible for organizing the return of faulty goods and products.
- Ensure the safety and security of the stock. They must also enforce health and safety rules and train staff on proper practice within the storeroom, as well as emergency procedures.
- Ordering of all stock, spare parts and consumable products to achieve best value, constantly reviewing pricing based on last purchase prices.
- Dealing with machine specific suppliers in order ascertain correct required parts and stock levels, asking suppliers for critical spares etc.
- Accurate input of information to the master spend sheet & KPI daily, including but not limited to: spend, labour variance.
- Calculate and correlate spend reports against departmental budget and graph, constantly reviewing with rest of department.
- Planning and organizing of parts for project jobs or planned work.
- Forecasting based on PM’s for future as to parts required for planned work.
- Sorting and filing of all paperwork in relation to engineering visitors, contractors and engineers including worksheets, PM’s, Service records, health questionnaires and visitors sheets.
- Inputting of all weekly labour and overtime justification spreadsheets for Payroll.
- Correlate and update Master Preventive Maintenance plan system charts and file completed sheets.
- Archiving of all reports and files relating to the engineering department.
- Assist other departments in locating specific items required through appropriate vendors.
- Ensure all storage areas are kept in a safe, tidy manner and stocked to pre agreed levels.
- General Housekeeping duties around the Engineering office to keep maintained, clear and tidy.
- Be responsible for some of the efficient day to day ordering & input of such in to the daily spend sheet, as dictated by the Maintenance Manager
Additional Duties
- Assist with the training and development of others where appropriate.
- Ensure effective communication.
- Undertake any additional responsibilities as required.
- Promote and participate in Food Safety Culture and GMP.
Essential Criteria & Qualification
- Good Organisational skills
- Computer Literate (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Be comfortable using Systems e.g Piranha
- Basic appreciation and knowledge of Engineering elements
- Excellent numeracy and control / knowledge of all Engineering stock items
- Self - motivated, can work on own initiative, alone and as part of a team
- Good time management
- Demonstrate compliance with Company Rules and ensure that discipline is maintained at all times.
- Ensure that the Company Disciplinary Procedure is adhered to.
- Demonstrate compliance with all requirements of the Company’s Health and Safety Policy. You and your team pursue safe working practices. You must take action if any machinery or your working environment becomes unsafe or if you see anyone doing anything unsafe. Any such instances are to be documented and reported
