The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Asset Management team for Building Surveyor and for the right person we offer a 35-hour week, competitive salary, excellent contributory pension scheme, and 25 days holiday increasing to 30 days.

Candidates
We are looking to recruit a Building Surveyor(s) whose duties will include response surveying of properties regarding building defects both tenanted and void. Lead on specific home improvement and maintenance programmes. Consult with contractors, customers, and internal staff.

The successful candidate will ideally have a good working knowledge across all areas of asset management within social housing.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE

* Experience in a similar surveying role, ideally within a Social Housing or Local Authority Environment

* Skills and knowledge of construction methods and problem solving.

* Experience of managing contractors and consultants to deliver within budgets and timescales.

* Demonstrate a high level of customer service and complaint handling skills.

* A knowledge of all aspects of the building construction and maintenance industry including contractual matters, legislation, inspection and surveying of domestic property and the diagnosis and remedy of building defects.

* Working knowledge of standard forms of building contract and procurement methods available

* Ability to produce specifications, drawings, and related tender documentation (AutoCAD)

* Ability to plan, prioritise and organise work to meet service delivery targets.

* An understanding of the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations

* Be empathetic when dealing with customers with individual circumstances.
