SHEQ Manager

The Role:

As a SHEQ Manager, you will play a pivotal role within the senior management team, driving the maintenance, development, and continuous improvement of our client’s integrated SHEQ systems (ISO9001, 14001, 45001). You’ll be responsible for embedding SHEQ best practices across the business and ensuring compliance with the latest standards and regulations. This role is based in Wiltshire, but will require travel to customer sites and regional offices.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the management, maintenance, and enhancement of the company’s Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety Management Systems to ISO9001, 14001 & 45001 standards.

* Facilitate external audits from certification bodies, customers, and other stakeholders.

* Manage sector-specific audits, including Achilles and CHAS, ensuring compliance with all relevant SHEQ legislation and standards.

* Provide support and guidance to managers to foster a positive SHEQ culture throughout the organisation.

* Investigate accidents and near-misses, implement corrective actions, and ensure all documentation is completed.

* Conduct internal SHEQ audits across regional offices and customer sites, overseeing corrective actions.

* Produce regular SHEQ management reports and updates for Directors and the Management team.

* Deliver SHEQ inductions, toolbox talks, and health & safety awareness sessions.

* Manage document control to ensure compliance with standards and operational needs.

* Support frameworks, tenders, and customer questionnaires with relevant SHEQ input.

* Oversee mandatory equipment inspections, including lifting and calibration checks.

* Manage COSHH assessments and ensure up-to-date records are maintained.

* Represent the company at customer stand-down days and industry network events.

* Lead Quality Focus Groups and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) with the parent company.

* Conduct supplier and contractor appraisals and manage waste contractor registrations.

* Collect data for carbon footprint assessments in line with ISO14064 and drive improvements.

About You:

* NEBOSH qualified with Tech-IOSH membership.

* Proven background in SHEQ management within engineering, contracting, or manufacturing sectors.

* Strong understanding of SHEQ legislation and standards, with the ability to interpret specifications and customer requirements.

* Highly motivated with excellent communication skills, capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels.

* Commercially savvy, with a focus on delivering successful outcomes and customer satisfaction.

* Ability to prioritise workloads effectively, balancing planned tasks with reactive needs.

* Proficient in the use of ERP systems and IT literate.

* Must hold a clean UK driving licence.
