Job Title: Senior Estimator
Contractor: Leading UK Infrastructure and Engineering Organisation
Location: South West
Salary: £75,000 - £85,000 per annum
Hybrid Working: 3/2 site/home

Client Overview - Senior Estimator:
Our client is a leading UK contractor delivering essential infrastructure projects across sectors, including water, health, and transportation. They are seeking a Senior Estimator to join their Water South Business Unit in the South West region. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and submitting tenders, working closely with the bid team to secure profitable future workload while managing risk and value during the tender period.

Purpose of the Role - Senior Estimator:
The Senior Estimator will manage the preparation and submission of tenders for infrastructure projects, ensuring accurate and competitive bids. The role requires collaboration with the bid team, risk management throughout the tender process, and preparation of budgets and cost plans to ensure the smooth handover of projects to operational teams.

Key Accountabilities - Senior Estimator:
Appraise tender documents and prepare material and subcontract enquiries.
Attend strategy and opportunity meetings with the project team.
Visit sites to assess specific risks and contribute to the design development process.
Prepare analytical cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans.
Adjudicate and compare subcontractor quotations and manage technical queries.
Manage risk throughout the tender process and prepare tender risk registers.
Present tenders to senior management, highlighting major commercial risks.
Ensure smooth project handover to operational teams. Competency Requirements - Senior Estimator:
Degree in Construction or related field (essential).
Minimum 7 years of experience in a similar role.
Extensive experience in analytical estimating up to a value of £25m.
Knowledge of various contract forms including traditional, partnering, design & build, and frameworks.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong numerical skills and technical construction knowledge.
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively. Technical/Professional Expertise and Qualifications - Senior Estimator:
Extensive experience in cost planning and estimating across infrastructure projects.
Knowledge of BIM and industry standards.
Strong problem-solving skills and innovative approach to project estimating.
