Mae Ymchwil Data Gweinyddol Cymru (ADR Wales) yn dod ag arbenigwyr gwyddor data byd-enwog, academyddion blaenllaw a thimau arbenigol o fewn Llywodraeth Cymru at ei gilydd i gynhyrchu tystiolaeth sy’n llywio penderfyniadau polisi yn y dyfodol yng Nghymru. Mae Gofal Cymdeithasol Cymru yn arwain rhaglen waith gofal cymdeithasol ADR Cymru.

Rydym nawr yn chwilio am fyfyriwr PhD ar leoliad i ymuno â ni ar leoliad Ymchwil Data Gweinyddol Cymru am gyfnod penodol o dri mis (ar gyfer myfyriwr amser llawn) neu chwe mis (ar gyfer myfyriwr rhan-amser).

Byddwch yn cael y cyfle i gymhwyso a datblygu eich sgiliau ymchwil ar faterion byd go iawn, gan gyfrannu at drawsnewid gofal cymdeithasol yng Nghymru.

Felly, os ydych chi am gael effaith ystyrlon wrth wella eich portffolio academaidd a phroffesiynol, byddem wrth ein bodd yn clywed gennych.

Y Rôl

Fel myfyriwr PhD ar leoliad gyda ni, byddwch yn cefnogi ein gwaith ADR Cymru drwy gyfrannu at brosiectau ymchwil data cysylltiedig mewn gofal cymdeithasol oedolion.

Yn ogystal, gallwch:

- Cael eich cefnogi i gael mynediad at ddata ar Fanc Data SAIL
- Annog a chefnogi perchnogion data i rannu eu data ym Manc Data SAIL
- Cynnal ymchwil data cysylltiedig ar bwnc sy'n ymwneud â gofal cymdeithasol oedolion
- Hyrwyddo ymchwil data cysylltiedig trwy ddeunyddiau ysgrifenedig ar sianeli Gofal Cymdeithasol Cymru, Prifysgol Abertawe, ac ADR Cymru

Byddwch yn cymryd rhan mewn gweithgareddau fel cyfrannu at ein prosiect gosod blaenoriaethau, cefnogi ein grŵp ymchwil data cysylltiedig â gofal cymdeithasol oedolion, a hyrwyddo gwerth ymchwil data cysylltiedig mewn gofal cymdeithasol oedolion. Bydd disgwyl i chi gadw at brotocolau llywodraethu, cynnal cyfrinachedd a dilyn polisïau sefydliadol.

I gael eich ystyried fel ein myfyriwr PhD ar leoliad, bydd angen:

- Bod yn ymgymryd ar hyn o bryd neu ar fin cychwyn (o fis Medi/Hydref 2024) PhD ar ofal cymdeithasol gan ddefnyddio ymchwil data cysylltiedig neu set ddata/setiau data mawr, mewn Sefydliad Addysg Uwch yng Nghymru
- Caniatâd gan oruchwylwyr, sefydliadau, a chyllidwyr (os yw'n berthnasol) i gymryd rhan yn y lleoliad hwn
- Gwybodaeth am ystod o dechnegau gwyddor data, dadansoddi meintiol ac ystadegol
- Sgiliau defnyddio meddalwedd ar gyfer dadansoddi ystadegol
- Sgiliau cyfathrebu Saesneg da

Gall sefydliadau eraill alw’r rôl hon yn Ymchwilydd Gwyddor Data, Cynorthwyydd Ymchwil Gofal Cymdeithasol, Cynorthwyydd Ymchwil, Cydymaith Ymchwil, Dadansoddwr Ymchwil (Gofal Cymdeithasol), neu Leoliad Ymchwil PhD.

At Social Care Wales, we provide leadership and expertise in social care and early years in Wales.

Our vision is to make a positive difference to care and support for children, adults, and their families and carers.

To do this, we lead in developing and regulating the social care workforce, service improvement, data, and research to improve care.

Administrative Data Research Wales (ADR Wales) brings together world-renowned data science experts, leading academics and specialist teams within Welsh Government to produce evidence that shapes future policy decisions in Wales. Social Care Wales is leading on the ADR Wales social care programme of work.

We are now looking for a PhD placement student to join us for an Administrative Data Research Wales placement for a fixed-term of three months (for a full-time student) or six months (for a part-time student).

The Role

As a PhD student on placement with us, you will support our ADR Wales work by contributing to linked data research projects in adult social care.

Additionally, you may:

- Be supported to access data on the SAIL Databank
- Encourage and support data owners to share their data in the SAIL Databank
- Conduct linked data research on a topic related to adult social care
- Promote linked data research through written materials on Social Care Wales, Swansea University, and ADR Wales channels

You will engage in activities such as contributing to our priority-setting project, supporting our adult social care linked data research group, and promoting the value of linked data research in adult social care. You will be expected to adhere to governance protocols, maintaining confidentiality and following organisational policies.

About You

To be considered as our PhD placement student, you will need:

- To be currently undertaking or about to commence (from September/October 2024) a PhD on social care using linked data research or a large dataset/datasets, at a Wales Higher Education Institution
- Permission from supervisors, institution, and funders (if applicable) to participate in this placement
- Knowledge of a range of data science, quantitative and statistical analysis techniques
- Skills in using software for statistical analysis
- Good English communication skills
