Structural Engineer
Sheffield

My Client are a growing practice who have a number of offices across Yorkshire and the East Midlands. Specialising in Structural, Civil and Environmental Engineering, they have been established for 50 years and have won a number of exciting and challenging projects in progress and in the pipeline.

Due to this increase in workload, they are looking to fill a permanent position within their Structural Engineering team to assist in the further development and growth of the team and the firm.

You will be working toward Chartership or have an interest in doing so and have a minimum 2 years design experience in a UK based structural engineering consultancy environment. You will have experience on developing residential, commercial and industrial projects from concept to construction stage with further experience with both new build and refurbishment projects.

As well as co-ordinating with engineers in other various disciplines such as Geotechnical and Civil engineering, you will prepare design quotes and writing reports and be responsible for preparing, detailing and reviewing drawings of the systems designed and also where required supervising, checking and signing off work

Using software to assist with calculations and structural design such as MasterSeries, CSC Fastrak and Strand7, you will embark on structural design for steel frame, concrete frame, portal frame and traditional domestic structures. The job needs you to be proficient in the design of concrete, steel, timber and masonry structures and possess a sound knowledge of current design standards and working practices.

A full UK Drivers License is required as you will be expected to attend meetings to build relationships and gain valuable information from clients, discussing their needs, requirements and any design issues
