Job Description: PPD Chemist

Location: Brixworth , Northampton.

Duration: Permanent

Salary : Competitive

Hours: Mon-Fri 9-5pm

The role is within a leading fragrance company, focused solely on developing fragrances for consumer products. The company values innovation, creativity, and diversity, offering career growth across various functions.

Job Purpose:

You will work in the R&D team, responsible for testing and evaluating fragrances in consumer products to ensure they meet quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

· Conduct stability tests on fragrances and raw materials.

· Maintain daily records of tests and enter data into internal systems.

· Prepare product bases (up to 10kg) for testing.

· Monitor stock of formulations and ingredients.

· Develop new personal care formulas and update in-house libraries.

· Perform various tests like UV, panel, and viscosity testing.

· Prepare finished product samples.

· Cover responsibilities during staff absences.

Skills and Qualifications:

· Degree in Cosmetic Science or a Chemistry-related field.

· At least 2 years of experience in an FMCG development lab.

· Knowledge in personal care formulation is preferred.

· Strong problem-solving, organizational, and teamwork skills.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office and internal data systems.

· Interest in the fragrance industry is advantageous.
