We are looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational Behavioural Units in Newcastle on a full-time and long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development.
About the Role:
The role will involve planning and teaching engaging and informative lessons that inspire pupils with a wide range of SEND and allows all pupils to make progress.
Working with Secondary aged pupils within a unit setting within a mainstream school.
Building positive relationships with pupils and staff to create excellent learning environments.
Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner
Differentiating lessons appropriately to suit the needs and earning styles of all pupils.
Using varied methods of assessment to assess pupil progress
Displaying high levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with children.
Working effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experienceAbout the School:
The role is based in an inspirational unit setting in Newcastle.
The School supports pupils across the Secondary School age range and there are opportunities to support pupils across all years groups
The School has asupportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a Team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils.Pay, Hours and Contract:
Pay - Between £(Apply online only)per day
Hours - 08.00-15.00
Contract - Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2025. Temporary Contract.
Start Date - ASAP.
Location - NewcastleExperience/Qualifications and Requirements:
An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
QTS and Teaching experience in either Primary or Secondary School settings within the UK.
Strong Behaviour Management skills
Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress
Strong knowledge of the Maths curriculum.
Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport
A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work
Experience of Teaching within the UK
A genuine passion for Teaching
Strong organisation and communication skills
