About the Role:

As a Social Worker in the Intake and Assessment Team, you will be responsible for conducting initial assessments and investigations, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families in Cardiff. Your role will involve working closely with families, other professionals, and community resources to provide timely and effective support.

Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct initial assessments to identify needs and risks for children and families.

* Develop safety plans and make recommendations for ongoing support and intervention.

* Work collaboratively with families, caregivers, and multi-agency partners to ensure comprehensive care.

* Engage in safeguarding investigations in accordance with legislation and best practices.

* Maintain accurate and detailed records of assessments, interventions, and outcomes.

* Advocate for children and families, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making processes.

* Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

* Qualified Social Worker (Degree in Social Work or equivalent).

* Registration with Social Work England.

* Experience in child protection, intake, and assessment services.

* Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act and safeguarding procedures.

* Excellent assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
