New Lead Quality Inspector Job in South Molton, North Devon

Seeking an experienced Lead Quality Inspector to execute and drive a Strategic Quality Plan in collaboration with plant leadership. This role is pivotal in ensuring product flow aligns with industry standards, government regulations, and customer expectations. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive quality assurance support to customers, suppliers, partners, and internal teams, leading efforts in continuous improvement and ensuring the execution of the Quality System and Strategy.

Key responsibilities for the Lead Quality Inspector job include:

* Serving as the primary interface for quality-related matters, leading complaint resolution, and executing root cause and corrective action processes.

* Leading the Quality Team in data collection, analysis, and the deployment of quality best practices within the manufacturing area.

* Applying structured problem-solving approaches like 8D and Six Sigma to resolve technical and business process issues.

* Overseeing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Quality Management Systems, especially during the development and launch of new products and processes.

* Conducting internal audits of Quality Systems and managing documentation to meet customer requirements for new or modified products and processes.

* Analyzing organizational quality metrics, recommending action plans, and leading efforts to close operational gaps.

* Designing and conducting quality assurance training programs, and supporting product development and launch activities.

* Developing and auditing inspection and test plans, investigating quality issues, and ensuring the effectiveness of corrective actions.

* Participating in the design, procurement, and evaluation of gauges, measurement instruments, and test equipment.

Qualifications for the Lead Quality Inspector job include:

* Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a small team of Quality personnel.

* Expertise in problem-solving methods such as Six Sigma, 8D, and root cause analysis, with a deep understanding of statistical tools and lean manufacturing techniques.

* Comprehensive knowledge of industry-specific quality registration schemes (ISO9001, AS9100, etc.) and certification processes.

* Experience in System and process auditing, product testing requirements, and engineering design concepts.

* Ability to lead cross-functional process improvement teams and drive performance in alignment with strategic quality objectives.
