Tradewind Recruitment is excited to announce an opportunity for a Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Marple. This role is ideal for a compassionate and resilient individual with experience working in schools and a strong commitment to supporting positive behavioural outcomes.
The Role:
As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the school's pastoral and teaching staff to support students who may face challenges in behaviour and social-emotional development. You will provide targeted assistance to help students engage positively with their learning environment and develop the skills they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Work one-on-one and in small groups with students to encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Support classroom teachers in implementing behaviour management strategies and personalised behaviour plans
Foster a respectful and supportive environment, working to build trust and rapport with students
Monitor students' progress and communicate insights with teachers and pastoral staff, helping to adjust strategies as needed
Assist in maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment, both in and out of the classroom
Actively support students' social, emotional, and behavioural development, promoting self-confidence and resilience
Essential Requirements:
Previous experience in a school setting, particularly working with students on behaviour support
A good understanding of behaviour management strategies and safeguarding policies
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt approaches for different students' needs
The ability to work well independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced school environment
Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting young people in their educational journey
