Gardening Assistant / Maintenance Person
We are looking for a person to assist and work with our Head Gardener in a well-established private country estate 8-miles from Boroughbridge. The position is full-time which consists of a 40-hour week, Monday – Friday.
About the role:
The site comprises of developed grounds, including trees, shrubs, formal hedges, greenhouses, roses, lawns, ponds, and herbaceous beds all requiring year-round attention.
MAIN DUTIES
The candidate would be expected to be hands-on and undertake a variety of gardening & maintenance tasks including:
* General gardening jobs
* Maintenance of grounds and ensuring all areas surrounding the property are kept neat and tidy
* Competent use and maintenance of a wide range of hand tools and horticultural machinery including small tractors, lawn mowers, strimmers, leaf blowers and hedge cutters
* Ad hoc duties comprising of tasks in the main property
* Car valeting
* Some dog-walking duties
Key Skills, Qualities & Experience
* The successful individual will be enthusiastic, reliable and self-motivated
* Hard-working and happy to work outdoors in all weather
* A current driving licence is essential
* Some horticultural and maintenance experience is desirable
* A DBS and Reference check will be required for the successful candidate
