Junior Electrical Engineer, Ashton Under Lyne, £20 per hour, paye / umbrella, 6 month contract initially
 
Are you a newly qualified engineer looking to gain hands-on experience in Electrical Engineering?
 
This Junior Electrical Engineer role offers a fantastic opportunity to work on impactful projects across sectors such as Water, Pharmaceuticals, Defence, and Waste to Energy.
 
This six-month, fixed-term position, with the possibility of extension, combines home-based work with regular visits to the Tameside area, allowing you to grow and learn alongside a supportive team of experienced engineers.
 
About the Role
 
As a Junior Electrical Engineer, you’ll join a small collaborative engineering company, developing critical electrical designs and general arrangements using AutoCAD. Working on project scopes provided by a senior engineer, you’ll create, modify, and document electrical layouts, leading your assigned tasks through each project phase.

As a Junior Electrical Engineer, you’ll gain valuable exposure to multiple industries, build your expertise in electrical and building services engineering, and develop skills to support your career progression.

Key Responsibilities

Develop Electrical Drawings: Use AutoCAD to produce detailed electrical designs, general arrangements, and supporting documents that align with project scopes and specifications.
Document Project Work: Create, review, and refine project documentation, ensuring accuracy and quality at every stage. Work with other engineers to finalise documents for handover and client submission.
Collaborate with the Team: Work closely with senior engineers for task allocation, review, and project handover. Be proactive in team discussions to ensure successful project completion.
Knowledge Development: Continuously develop your understanding of electrical engineering, gaining insights from senior engineers and learning from work across different sectors. About You

You’re an independent worker who takes pride in delivering quality work and thrives on learning new skills. You’re comfortable using AutoCAD for electrical layouts and proficient in Microsoft Office tools like Excel and Teams. As a Junior Electrical Engineer, holding an HNC or Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering, you’re ready to apply your knowledge to real-world projects. Experience in sectors like Water, Defence, or Waste to Energy is a bonus, but a commitment to learning and contributing to team goals is what will set you apart.
