Are you a senior-level Civil or Structural Engineer looking for a leadership role in a growing and well-established multi-disciplinary Design & Build consultancy? Do you want to work on high-profile Government and MOD projects, drive innovation, and mentor a talented team of engineers?

We are looking for a Head of Civil/Structural Engineering to join our thriving consultancy. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead major projects, provide strategic direction, and play a key role in shaping the future of our engineering division.

Altough you can be based at either the Portsmouth or Monmouth office, please note there will be a requirement to travel to the Monmouth office a couple of times a week where the civil and structures team are largely based.

What You’ll Be Doing:

? Lead and develop scheme designs using industry-leading software.
? Manage and mentor a team of engineers, supporting their growth and success.
? Oversee the delivery of large-scale Government & MOD projects, ensuring they meet time, budget, and quality expectations.
? Conduct structural engineering analysis and design, working closely with CAD Technicians.
? Attend project meetings and site visits, providing technical expertise.
? Undertake condition surveys and produce detailed reports.
? Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and business management processes.
? Collaborate with other disciplines within the consultancy, including Surveyors, Architects, M&E Engineers, and Project Managers.
? Actively engage in CPD and professional development, staying ahead of industry trends.

What We’re Looking For:

✅ Chartered or working towards Chartership (ICE or IStructE).
✅ Extensive experience in civil and structural engineering, with a proven leadership track record.
✅ Strong technical expertise in structural design and construction problem-solving.
✅ Excellent leadership, team management, and mentoring skills.
✅ Ability to communicate critical project issues effectively with Directors, clients, and multidisciplinary teams.
✅ Security Clearance (SC level) (or willingness to obtain).
