Overview
We are seeking an experienced Planner to join our client on an exciting, high-profile new school build valued at £110 million. This project will establish a state-of-the-art educational facility, incorporating the latest in sustainable construction and advanced architectural design. The successful candidate will play a critical role in planning, scheduling, and coordinating project activities from inception through to completion, ensuring timely delivery while meeting quality and budgetary requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and Maintain Project Schedules: Create and manage detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project, outlining project milestones, critical paths, and resource allocation.
* Progress Monitoring: Track, update, and report on the project's progress, ensuring alignment with project timelines and milestones.
* Coordination and Communication: Collaborate with project managers, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure all parties are aware of schedule requirements and project changes.
* Risk Management: Identify potential scheduling risks and implement effective mitigation strategies. Conduct regular reviews to preempt delays and manage risks proactively.
* Document Control: Maintain detailed records of schedule changes, project adjustments, and other documentation for reporting and analysis.
* Reporting: Generate and present regular reports, including progress updates, delay analysis, and forecasts, to project stakeholders, including senior management and clients.
* Resource and Cost Allocation: Work closely with the project team to ensure the efficient allocation of resources in line with project budgets and timelines.
* Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure that project schedules comply with industry standards and contractual requirements, incorporating FIDIC contract management principles where applicable.
Qualifications and Experience
* Proven experience as a Planner in construction, ideally on large-scale projects worth £50 million or more.
* Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
* Strong understanding of construction processes and project lifecycles, with a focus on educational or institutional buildings being advantageous.
* Experience with risk management and delay analysis techniques.
* Knowledge of FIDIC contract frameworks and reporting requirements.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with multiple stakeholders
