SEN Teaching Assistant

Weekly Salary: £445 to £480
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday (8:30am – 3:30pm)

Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant for a Special Educational Needs (SEN) School in Coventry. Experience working with young people in education, care, or support settings is desirable.

The Role:

We are looking for a dedicated full-time Teaching Assistant to support children aged 3–16 with complex needs, including autism, severe learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).

Many pupils require additional support during lessons, and some may need assistance with personal care. The school collaborates closely with health professionals, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, language therapists, and educational psychologists to provide a holistic learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting teachers in lesson delivery
Providing one-to-one and small group support
Monitoring student progress and giving feedback to staff
Assisting with personal care when required

Requirements:

Passion for working with children with SEN
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students
Experience working with SEN (desirable)
An enhanced DBS on the update service

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
