We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Catering Butcher to join our team in Handcross, with a starting salary of £40,000 per year. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in either catering or retail butchery, who is looking to take on a key role within our operations.
About the Role: As a Catering Butcher, you will be responsible for cutting, deboning, trimming, and preparing meat according to our specific requirements. This role requires precision and a deep understanding of nose-to-tail and seam butchery techniques. You must be proficient in tying a butcher’s knot and thoroughly know safety standards to prevent meat contamination.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience as a butcher in a catering or retail setting.
* Expertise in various butchery techniques including nose-to-tail and seam butchery.
* Ability to start early, with working hours from 5 AM to 3 PM, 5 days a week including Saturdays.
* Strong understanding of hygiene and safety standards in meat handling and preparation.
* Excellent timekeeping and reliability, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Responsibilities:
* Cut, trim, and debone meat with precision to meet customer specifications.
* Ensure all meat products are handled and stored correctly to maintain quality and safety.
* Manage inventory and prepare individual meat servings.
* Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to sanitation standards.
