Aviation Executive 

Working Hours

Full-time permanent role working 37.5 hours per week 09:00 am  - 17:15 pm Monday to Friday with 45 minute lunch break.   

Purpose of the role:

To control and manage the airline inventory within a portfolio of tours maximising margin for the business by the correct application of processes and procedures.

You will:

Build and maintain a good working relationship with airlines as well as supporting internal departments within the business as required.

Plan annual workflows, seat management including cost control of the Aviation component across a portfolio of tours.

Ensure the right flight is always displayed internally and externally, making sure it is contributing to an excellent customer experience.

Work within agreed financial limits and to tight deadlines to avoid penalties for not releasing unused flight inventory back to airlines.

Manage schedule changes and regional flights looking for the best solution for the customer and the right price for the business.

Work closely with the Holiday Director department to ensure that a seat is held for a Holiday Director where required, at the most cost-effective price.

Complete flight lists & ticketing on time to ensure there are no restrictions to the customer documentation process

Ensure all bookings are up to date and tickets issued with the correct fare information.

Ensure any changes to airfare are flagged & completed via the cost amend processes.

Support Aviation customer facing Sales, such as Upgrades and On Request bookings – contribute to the team’s performance to ensure as a team we are hitting SLA’s and maximising profit and conversion.

Be the ‘go to’ person for your own geographical area, liaising with suppliers, keeping up to date with changes, and actively sharing information with your colleagues.

Effectively communicating using the Tour Change process to advise customers of specific changes.

Seek tax recoveries on flight bookings and assist the finance team with any flight cost discrepancies from inventory management.

Work with the Sales Centre to ensure we have the correct customer information to provide an air ticket ready for travel.

Review, update, and complete various tasks from Aviation reports such as Consolidation Memo, Commitment Chart, Cancellation Report, Flight List and, Ticketing report.

Participate on the call rota to support the business outside of office hours.

Provide Aviation training and support when needed for Aviation team members as well as other departments around the business as required.

Support Customer Care with Aviation customer feedback to assist in compiling the response.

To be successful you will:

Know the airline routes, operating guidelines, and airline specific contract interpretation.

Be able to plan and organise effectively.

Experience of working within the travel industry

Be confident and capable of navigating numerous systems and embrace the learning of these.

Have a strong attention to detail.

Be able to maintain focus and work within very tight time constraints.

Be an effective communicator and relationship builder.

Have good negotiation skills, and a solution driven approach.

Have strong quantitative skills for analysis of complicated programmes to ensure sufficient flight seat capacity is available.

Be forward thinking to actively seek process improvements.

Adapt to new tasks quickly, embrace change and enjoys being part of a developing team.

Desirable

1-2 years GDS experience (preferably Amadeus)

Have an understanding of Aviation processes.
