Job title: SHE Advisor

Location: Sheffield – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: £45,000+ (Depending on skills and experience)

What you’ll be doing:

Support the development, maintenance and/or deployment of the SHE strategy (including objectives, processes and assurance) that meet the requirements of BAE Systems Operational Framework and International SHE Standards (such as ISO45001 and ISO14001) and supports the achievement of organisational goals

Support activities associated with improving SHE practice and performance within multiple business areas or site(s), including deployment and implementation of SHE Policy and strategy, provision of competent SHE advice on risk management and control, collation and provision of SHE performance reports, investigation and reporting of incidents in accordance with regulatory and/or customer requirements

Support the development and implementation of innovative SHE change programmes, ensuring consistency and effective improvement in SHE risk management and embedding a culture of continuous improvement and the sharing of best practices

Provide assurance for determining compliance with relevant legal, BAE Systems Operational Framework and SHE Management System requirements within business areas or site(s)

Monitor the effectiveness, and provide regular reports, on all of the above to relevant stakeholders

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

The role holder is required to have either NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety OR a Level 3 NVQ in Occupational Safety and Health Practice

The role holder is required to hold a good understanding of safety, health and environmental management standards and practice (ISO45001 and ISO14001)

The role requires a good understanding of how to work with others in order to operationalise, integrate and deliver SHE processes, projects and change in a business, a contemporary view of their deliverables and aims, the challenges they face, the developments which they are planning and enacting

Experience in advising on SHE matters, applying a good level of SHE knowledge

Experience in stakeholder management influencing activities and decision making

Desirable:

Would be desirable to have a background in Manufacturing

Be open to, or is currently working towards, NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety OR a Level 5 NVQ in Occupational Safety and Health Practice
