About the Role

The purpose of this role is to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of all aspects of the Packing Department, as detailed below:

Organise and plan the production of the Packing Department on days, ensuring all orders are produced to the correct specification.
Meet KPI targets both agreed and set with the Factory Manager and General Manager and work to and deliver agreed budget targets for costs and head counts.
Ensure all finished products and work-in-progress are correctly labelled for traceability, and that all packing records are completed.
Ensure good housekeeping of the packing and seasoning areas.
Train and mentor the Packing team.
Administrate holiday shift patterns with the Factory Manager and in accordance with company policy, ensuring all necessary cover is in place.
Liaise with HR regarding timekeeping and absences, complying with the company absence procedure & policy, discipline and grievance.We welcome applications for this Packing Manager role from candidates with skills in operations, production, packing, leadership, training, coaching, time management, HR, KPIs, and reporting, or as an Assistant Manager, Operations Manager, Factory Manager, Production Manager, or Supervisor.

Additional Information

Working hours are Sunday to Thursday, 08.00-17.00

This role will require some flexibility in the working hours to meet the needs of the business.

Essential Skills

No formal qualifications are required for this Packing Manager role, and full training will be provided; however, it would be advantageous if you have supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced operations, packing, or production environment and significant experience supervising or managing staff.

Desirable Skills

Experience in the food/meat industry would be advantageous
Good communication skills
Ability to develop good working relationships with managers in other areas of the business to deliver common goals in terms of profitability and provision of agreed service levels
Willingness to embrace change and develop people within your team
The ability to work to tight deadlines
A strong commercial understanding of the business
