The School
An independent specialist setting in Salisbury, catering for pupils aged 11-19. All students have a primary diagnosis of Autism, along with other complex needs. Most pupils have significant SEMH needs and can display challenging behaviour.
The Role
A full-time teaching assistant role. You will work closely with a team to provide excellent care and education for young people. You will need to have strong behaviour management skills and a good understanding of how to support students' mental health needs.
Main Responsibilities:
Work under the guidance of class teacher
Support students during lessons
Lead some small ground interventions
Work one-to-one with students when directed
Essential Criteria/Skills
Very good level of spoken and written English
Strong behaviour management skills
High levels of resilience
Ability to remain calm under pressure
Desirable Criteria
Previous experience supporting SEMH needs
Previous experience working with secondary age students
