Our client, a leader in the Defence & Security sector, has an exciting opportunity for a Senior ILS Engineer. Our client's ILS team provides essential supportability and support solutions consultancy, maximising customer capabilities by ensuring products are supportable and supported at optimum Whole Life Cost.
Key Responsibilities
Under the mentorship of the head of Support, you will use sound engineering judgement to ensure products are developed to be supportable.
Key responsibilities include:
Tailoring the scope and scale of ILS activities to meet User, Customer, and project requirements.
Working collaboratively with designers to enhance the reliability, maintainability, and usability aspects of designs.
Providing input to develop optimal support solutions for each customer.
Completing various analyses such as life cycle cost analyses, level of repair analyses, sparing analyses, and failure modes and effects analyses.
Eliciting and deriving support requirements and proposing methods for verification.
Developing supportability cases and conducting analyses to provide assurance of support solutions.
Performing reliability modelling and maintainability analysis.
Assessing potential system failures due to human error.
Preparing technical manuals and troubleshooting guides.
Assisting with system hazard analysis and implementing obsolescence strategies.
Supporting continuous improvement of processes, policies, and procedures.
Skills, Qualification and Experience
The Ideal candidate will have:
A bachelor's degree in engineering, a technical equivalent, or equivalent experience from navy, army, or air force.
Knowledge and experience in Reliability & Maintainability, including Reliability Prediction, RBDs, FTAs, FMECAs, MTAs, and FRACAS/DRACAS.
Experience in reviewing work produced by domain specialists in areas such as Integrated Logistics Support, Operational Analysis, Whole Life Cost Modelling, and Training Development.
The ability to achieve Security Clearance (SC) or higher with no caveats.
A full driving license, as the role requires occasional travel to various sites and customer locations.
Experience using PTC Windchill, Isograph or similar modelling software.
