Building Safety Manager
Location: London
Job Type: Temporary, Hybrid (Flexible Working) until April 2025
Hourly rate: Negotiable We are seeking two Building Safety Managers for a leading housing association in London. This role is crucial in managing fire and structural risks associated with high-rise buildings. The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of residential buildings, engaging with residents, and maintaining high safety standards.
Day-to-day of the role:
Undertake hazard assessments to develop safety cases and safety case reports for high-rise residential buildings.
Review existing fire precautionary measures and plan remediation or refurbishment works, ensuring safety and minimal risk to residents.
Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the provision of safe homes.
Liaise with operational teams to address and prioritise risks identified during Building Safety inspections.
Support the Mandatory Reporting process with the Building Safety Regulator and manage enquiries or complaints about building safety.
Provide fire and structural safety information to residents and support the delivery of the resident engagement strategy.
Update and maintain systems/records to ensure data accuracy and meet KPIs.
Collaborate with various teams to monitor and improve internal procedures, ensuring adequate control measures are in place.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong understanding of Fire Risk Assessments and Approved Document B.
Ability to produce detailed safety reports and work to tight guidelines and targets.
Proficient in managing multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with professional surveyors/engineers.
Knowledge of structural safety and design.
Technical qualifications in fire risk assessment (Level 4 desirable).
Experience in asset management, compliance, and housing management programmes.
Familiarity with B.I.M. protocol and building safety information management.
