Salary: £12.46 per hour
Location: Colwyn Bay
Contracted Hours: 39 hours per week

We're looking for individuals with the right values, attitude, and behaviours. While previous care experience is beneficial, it’s not essential. We will provide all the training and support you need to succeed in this role. You don’t need any formal qualifications to begin.

Core Responsibilities:
• Act as a key worker for a group of residents under the supervision of senior staff, assisting with resident admissions
• Contribute to the development and review of individual care plans, including for residents with dementia
• Respect residents' privacy, dignity, and choices
• Provide personal and social care in line with care plans, aiming to enhance residents' physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing
• Engage in social care activities with residents throughout the day (and night when necessary)
• Build positive relationships with residents, ensuring their dignity and respect are maintained
• Attend and participate in resident review meetings
• Respond promptly to emergency calls, assess situations, and take appropriate action
• Assist in the induction of new staff
• Help residents with personal hygiene, mobility issues, and the use of assistive equipment
• Support residents who are unwell or nearing the end of life
• Encourage residents to compile life stories and discuss their interests and memories
• Record and communicate messages as per home procedures
• Liaise with relatives, advocates, and other professionals
• Participate in team meetings and maintain confidentiality when reporting resident information
• Complete the QCF (or equivalent) level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care
• Attend training, including compulsory health and safety courses
• Participate in supervision and performance appraisal sessions
• Follow health, safety, and food safety policies
• Assist in general housekeeping tasks as needed
• Work a rolling 7-day rota, including weekends
• Travel for meetings or training, as required
• Perform other reasonable duties as directed by the line manager
• Pass an Enhanced Criminal Records Disclosure and POVA check

• Safeguarding: All staff have a responsibility to ensure the safety of children, adults with care and support needs, and their families.
• Infection Control: All staff must adhere to MHA's policies and procedures regarding infection prevention and control.
