Our client, a reputable manufacturer in the production of high-quality, durable textiles and protective products, is looking for a skilled Sewing Machinist to join their team. This position is essential for producing customized textile components that support the needs of key industries, including defense, broadcast, and medical sectors.
Job Summary
The Sewing Machinist will be responsible for operating industrial sewing machines to produce textile components for protective cases and covers. This role requires an eye for detail to ensure products meet quality standards and the ability to collaborate effectively with the production team to meet customer requirements and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Operating Sewing Machines: Set up and operate industrial sewing machines to stitch, sew, and assemble textile components based on technical drawings and specifications.
Fabric Cutting and Preparation: Measure, mark, and cut fabric accurately to support precise production.
Quality Control: Inspect products for defects throughout the production process, ensuring finished items meet quality standards.
Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on sewing machines, troubleshooting minor issues as needed.
Collaboration: Work closely with production and design teams to maintain workflow and address any challenges or specification deviations.
Efficiency & Deadlines: Complete tasks within set timelines while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety guidelines when operating machinery and handling materials.
Documentation: Keep records of production details, including quantities, materials used, and any discrepancies.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience: 2-3 years as a textile machinist in a production setting preferred, though full training is provided.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with industrial sewing machines and textile equipment.
Materials Knowledge: Familiarity with various fabrics, technical textiles, and cutting techniques.
Attention to Detail: Strong focus on precise cutting and stitching according to specifications.
Physical Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination for handling materials, operating machines, and lifting fabric rolls.
Teamwork: Ability to work well within a production team to achieve shared goals.
Problem-Solving: Skilled in troubleshooting and adjusting machinery as needed.
