SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary Special School

A wonderful primary special needs school in Windsor is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a graduate or experienced teaching assistant to support students with Autism, Global Developmental Delay, and a range of cognitive and learning disabilities.
The ideal candidate is a graduate with a degree (2:2 or above) who brings enthusiasm for working with SEN students and ideally has some experience in this area. This role will involve one-on-one support for students with Special Needs and Challenging Behaviour, and it is especially well-suited to someone who has previously worked in roles such as youth work, support work, or mental health care.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with therapists, psychologists, and other professionals to provide customized student support
Help students with emotional regulation, social skills, and behavior management
Support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Maintain a calm, positive, and proactive approach, ideally with a keen interest in Psychology
Previous experience or knowledge of restraint techniques is beneficial but not requiredThe school is looking for a compassionate and motivated individual who is eager to contribute to the educational journey of students with additional needs. Excellent behavior management skills and a calm approach to challenges are key attributes for success in this role.
Position Details:
Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Windsor, Berkshire
Pay: £83 - £95 per day (depending on experience, training, and qualifications)
Contract: Long-term temporary with potential for permanent placement
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (8:30 am - 3:30 pm)
Experience: Preferred but not essential
