Profile – Quality Manager

Our client is a leading figurehead in the UK food sector, with an unparalleled pedigree dating back to the early 18th century. They are currently seeking an QA Manager to provide technical expertise to their Kent site.

Job Role – Quality Manager

Reporting to the Technical Manager the Quality Manager shall drive the Quality vision for the site championing Product Safety, Quality and Legality, whilst engaging with the Operations teams to improve standards and output through best practice performance. To ensure the site remains audit compliant to the Quality Management system.
Duties – Quality Manager

• Drive, effectively communicate and develop a quality culture for the designated product types and processes within the designated areas
• To be the face of quality at Ashford for all quality visits and inspections.
• Manage the Quality program for the end to end process by engaging with the relevant QA techs and Ops teams.
• Own and manage the specific QMS for the designated areas. This will include HACCP, Pre requisites, Internal and KM audits, Pest Control, Customer complaint investigations and root cause analysis.
• Own and manage the output from all internal audits and 2nd/ 3rd party inspections where applicable to the role.
• Work with QA systems manager to review KPI data for the specific process lines and develop reduction or improvement plans to suit.
• Lead continuous improvement projects for quality to reduce complaints, cost, waste and support and guide other departments and manage and develop the PQC Kitchens to ensure an effective process quality control system.
• Develop Process Quality Control (PQC) procedures and monitor compliance and communicate effectively.

Experience/Qualifications – Quality Assurance Manager (Systems & Compliance)

• HACCP Level 3+
• Qualification in Food Science, Quality, Hygiene or relevant experience
• Understanding of Quality Management Systems and BRC/Retailer requirements
• Internal auditing skills

Candidates who are currently a QA Manager, Quality Auditor, Technical Manager, Quality Manager, and Quality Assurance Manager could be suitable for this position.
