Traffic Controller

Established since 1991, our client Gaskells Waste (North West) Ltd is looking to recruit a Traffic Controller within the Transport Department. The position is based at their offices in Foster Street, Bootle.

The position of Traffic Controller requires a dedicated and client focussed individual to deliver excellent service to all customers. You will have the experience and ability of multi-tasking and working under pressure to ensure customers and colleagues are kept up to date on collections.

The successful candidate will require the following skills:

* Ability to communicate professionally at all levels of the business and to customers

* High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

* Strong administration and organisational skills

* Ability to manage and prioritise workload and identify problems

* Ability to make decisions, act quickly and meet deadlines

* Able to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team

* Able to handle difficult situations well and act appropriately

* Flexible attitude and approach dealing with ad-hoc tasks

* Good IT skills

* Enthusiastic and willing to learn

Main duties and responsibilities include:

* Deliver excellent customer service

* Communicate professionally at all times – verbally, over the telephone, via email, etc

* Driver supervision

* Keep all customers informed of all failed services or significant delays for assigned rounds

* Provide communication link between customers and driver

* Report any incidents / near misses as soon as they occur and ensure the relevant paperwork is completed

* Investigate issues as they arise to identify the route cause and resolve
