The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity to join a company who are developing low energy near zero emission process for onsite generation of Hydrogen and decarbonisation of gas powered heat processes. The company's patented technology promises to produce the lowest cost hydrogen from natural or bio-gas with almost zero CO2 emissions and actually reduce CO2 emissions by producing a green solid Carbon co-product to replace the billions of tons of virgin Carbon consumed each year. You will work on a range of projects which support modular Hydrogen production systems onsite enabling low cost Carbon Hydrogen solutions essential to stopping further climate change. As a Process Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and make a real impact in the fight against climate change.

The Role
This company seeks a talented and experienced Process Engineer to assist with the design and optimisation of its Hydrogen production reactor and system. In this role, you will have technical ownership over the process equipment, including specifying units, assisting with integration and generating standard operating procedures. These process units will include compressors, heat exchangers, composition sensors, valves, filters, etc. In particular, we are seeking someone with relevant experience with Hydrogen applications, solids handling, and microwave processes.

Your duties and responsibilities will be 
Creating engineering documents, including technical specifications, spec sheets, equipment/valve lists, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Developing Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
Engaging with vendors to procure process equipment.
Supporting the creation of procedures and risk assessment documentation.
Supporting design, specification, and sourcing of components.
Operating equipment in research and development (R&D) environments.
Analysing data logger files to enhance system performance.
Participating in Health & Safety (H&S) meetings and identifying potential improvements or issues in the company’s H&S practices.
Assisting the operations team with root cause analysis and fault-finding tasks.You will have the following qualifications and experience
A bachelor’s degree in Process/Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).
Proven experience in an engineering design environment.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting focused on developing first-of-a-kind technology.
Strong problem-solving abilities, particularly in developing cutting-edge technologies.
Organised and structured approach to work and file management.
Pragmatic and detail-oriented.
Proficient in writing clear and concise technical documents.
Capable of working in a dynamic startup environment while transitioning to a more structured engineering approach.It's great if you also have the following
Previous experience working with hydrogen or other flammable gases in ATEX/Ex environments.
Experience in specifying process equipment and managing vendor interactions.Benefits on offer to you
