THERMOFORMING TOOL SETTER LANCASHIRE/MERSEYSIDE
12 hour shifts rotating: 4 x 12 hr days, 4 days off, 4 x 12 hr nights, 4 days off (or option of 2d2n4r)
Salary negotiable subject to experience, basic starting salary £16.50 ph
Our client are a preferred supplier for a significant number of high profile brands and retailers, manufacturing innovative, sustainable products made from accredited, sustainable recycled material that are 100% recyclable. They operate from a modern BRCGS Grade AA facility, running 24hours per day, 7days per week; 51weeks per year.
As a Thermoforming Tool Setter, you will be responsible for the setup and running of the tooling on the machine lines WM, Kiefel Sencorp and ancillary equipment, granulators, case handling equipment. From time to time, you will be required to deputise for the Supervisor or Manager, including overseeing the operations of the thermoforming production line during designated shifts. You will manage a team of Production workers, ensuring the efficient and safe operation of machinery and adherence to production schedules and quality standards. This role requires strong technical knowledge of thermoforming processes, and the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Key Responsibilities:
Tool Setting: Set tooling and product changeovers within the targets.
Assist with the pre-production tool inspections and routine tooling maintenance.
Identify production, tool and machine issues that may impact performance including product quality defects then make recommendations to rectify the same.
After training commission new tooling and optimise line speeds.
Provide training and guidance to ensure that all employees understand their roles and perform them effectively.
Quality Assurance: You will be required to assist with any quality complaints and be part of the resolution team who investigate Customer complaints relating to products this includes identifying root cause, making recommendations and Implement changes that products meet specifications and customer requirements.
Conduct regular inspections of finished products to identify defects and deviations from quality standards.
Maintain documentation of quality records and production metrics.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
Communication & Coordination: Communicate effectively with colleagues including Maintenance, Tooling Shift Managers / Supervisors, and other departments.
Report production status, performance metrics, and any concerns to higher management.
Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and teamwork.Requirements:
Proven experience in thermoforming APET RPET and PP with at least 3-5 years setting tooling on Form Cut Stack machines.
Strong technical knowledge of thermoforming processes and equipment.
Good leadership and people skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritise in a challenging environment.
Critical thinking skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and production management software.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and moving machinery
