Straight-Line Civils are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with a background in heavy civils to start on sites in York and Carlisle.

Responsibilities: (includes but not limited to)

* Preparing bill of quantities, budgeting, and cost control for projects

* Working closely with our engineer & accounts for measuring works on site & submission of monthly valuations

* Managing and negotiating with clients, suppliers and subcontractors

* Handle contracts meticulously to ensure the company is safeguarded in respect of contractual notifications progress, cost, quality etc

* Working closely with managers to ensure financial goals are met

* Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the heavy civils industry

* Experience with New Engineering Contracts (NEC)

* Willingness to commute

* Valid driving licence

The job is a permanent site-based position in York. The candidate will have to travel to Carlisle once a week.

This salary is negotiable/dependent on experience but will include a company car.
