Position: Electrical Design and Software Engineer
Salary: Up to £45,000 (dependent on experience)
Working Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday (flexible working hours)
Location: Newton Heath
Remote Work: After a 3-month probation period, one day a week remote work available.

As their business continues to expand, they require a dedicated Electrical Design and Software Engineer to join their growing team.
Role Overview:
The Electrical Design and Software Engineer will play a pivotal role within the Design department and this hands-on position requires a flexible individual who is willing to engage in various tasks, including design and support for our partner company located next door. The engineer will also be involved in the maintenance and updating of equipment and may be required to visit customer sites, which can often be remote.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop electrical systems and software components as per project requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support design projects and maintenance tasks.
Assist in the troubleshooting and upgrading of existing electrical systems and equipment.
Prepare and interpret technical drawings and documentation for electrical designs.
Engage with clients on-site for installation, support, and training purposes.
Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in electrical and electronic engineering.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education: A qualification in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and/or equivalent practical experience (time served).
Experience: Proven experience in electrical system design or maintenance. Experience in production environments is acceptable if the candidate demonstrates a strong interest in design and technical drawings.
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of motion control systems, fieldbus technologies, safety systems, PLCs, and HMIs is highly desirable.
Familiarity with programming and software development relevant to electrical engineering.
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
A flexible and adaptable approach to work, with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
Additional Requirements:
A valid driver’s license is essential, as the role may involve travel to customer sites.
