Laboratory Manager, CL3 

London Based, Permanent Position 

Salary Commensurate with experience

My client is a leading clinical and laboratory service provider, specialising in a range of therapeutic areas and with the patient at the heart of their research. Due to continued growth, they are developing their laboratory facilities, to include a CL 3 / BSL-3 Laboratory. 

The Laboratory Manager will be accountable for setting up the facility and managing the day-to-day activity within the CL3 lab and ensure that all those working in the lab do so safely and within the agreed protocols and operating procedures. They are responsible for ensuring that the laboratories they manage are safe and efficient places to work and operate, in line with all policies and processes. 

This role will be critical in the support of research, and liaises with senior researchers to manage space, resources, rotas and training to ensure research can be carried out safely and effectively.

To be considered for the position of Laboratory Manager, CL3 you’ll need to have spent time working in a Containment Level 3 (CL3) laboratory, contributing to the management of the facility, process and procedures. You’ll have experience writing CL3 lab risk assessments, pathogen specific assessments and/or assay risk assessments. 

In addition, general laboratory operations management experience, such as managing lab stocks / consumables, equipment maintenance & calibration, staff inductions, H&S monitoring & risk assessments is essential. 

The Lab Manager, CL3 will need excellent communication skills and a personable nature, to support relationship building within the lab team and cross functionally within the organisation. You’ll also need a proactive nature, with strong organisational skills and attention to detail to ensure projects and team milestones are reached appropriately.
